DD Intern

We just hired an intern on our show and I thought I'd share his demo reel with others to see what kinda of student reel gets you into DD.

With this demo reel he basically flew threw the process. We were like yeah, looks great, hire him. Interviewed him, but mainly to see that he knows what he's talking about/he did the work shown. Anyway, he started yesterday, so if you're looking to get a job in FX, an internship like this at DD will fast track your career vs starting off in roto or the alike and working into FX. Work hard and work smart to show your best skills.

Great one really.
I have just some questions David. Hope you don't mind. Do you think shoot breakdown is an important thing to do? Taking my case for example, I've made my short has you know (http://vimeo.com/12115630)(password)that has several shots of water and fire, do you think this would be a good show reel or I should choose the best shots and create a break down of them? Hope you don't mind asking.
Thanks

I don't care for them but sometimes it's nice to show off what you did. Just don't over do it.

In scenes like the one he shows it's great to have a breakdown. I think it gives you another impact to the overall scene. You for example go straight to the point.
